Crystal-Lee Baptist

crystal Crystal is captivated by costumes and has been passionate about art/design and the Arts from the very beginning.

She developed a special interest for designing garments at the age of seven and went on to studying Art, Design and Technology (textiles) and Design and Clothing Production (VET) until 2002.

After high school graduation she pursued her passion for designing and creating. Since then she has designed and produced costumes along with two others for a 2004 Fringe Festival show called "Time of Seeing This". She has also worked on ballet costumes for the student production of "Swan Lake" and more recently has assisted with applied art decorations for the 2005 CLOC production of "Steel Pier". In addition she has enjoyed working behind the curtains for various shows and developing her interests in wearable art (as is revealed in her end of year female costume).

Over the course of this school year Crystal will be working on a female costume (living Eiffel Tower) and male costume (French jewel thief/street performer) in connection to the art deco period and 1930's. She will also contribute to this event by working in the marketing and graphics teams.

Crystal is passionate about costume and her goal is to work in the Arts industry where she will be able to design costumes for stage and/or film.
